Especially when purchasing natural leather products, it's advisable to get an idea of the leather quality and colors beforehand, as every leather is different. ROHLEDER relies on honesty here – and with leather samples, you can also put our word to the test.
Our specially developed leather is natural and the surface is uncoated. This means natural characteristics are visible and the color is not 100% uniform. The surface has been treated with wax to make the leather water-repellent.
This natural surface treatment not only makes the material easy to care for and durable, but also brings out the unique characteristics of the leather.

Resistant
It's not without reason that leather is synonymous with robust products. Our leather is tanned, waxed, and oiled according to our own recipe to create a water-repellent surface that can be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth.
Due to the lack of the usual plastic layer, fats and oils can penetrate the leather and any stains disappear over time .
Naturally
Our material differs from conventional leather in its plastic-free surface. Contrary to current practice, our leather is only oiled and waxed , which makes it truly durable: no plastic that can peel off irreparably, just pure nature .
We intentionally manufacture our goods with a few non-harmful features (closed scars, etc.) to emphasize our closeness to nature and reduce waste.
Durable
Synthetic-free leather doesn't deteriorate. Like an old leather chair, with proper care, it will serve you well for a lifetime , developing a patina and aging naturally .
Minor scratches can be easily removed with leather care , making the product look like new again.
We sew each piece by hand and treat our material with the precision and quality it deserves.
Austrian handcraft
All our products are handcrafted in our small workshop in Upper Austria. We sit at the sewing machine ourselves and cut the shapes ourselves—thus ensuring truly high quality in every piece.
